Why sell our community land before telling us?
Council agreed to sell 62 Lake Macdonald Drive to a developer at its Ordinary Meeting on 16 May 2024, seemingly before they possess the planning scheme amendments that would legitimise that process. Council also had a duty to tell us before embarking on a significant local change of use.

We understand that the sale of land may need to be discussed in a confidential section of the meeting if monetary amounts are being disclosed. And we have been told this by Brian Stockwell while acting as Deputy Mayor.
In the interests of transparency we invite you to forward through the video to around 1hr 31 minutes and 40 seconds. Listen to Cr Brian Stockwell speak and then the objection by Cr Lorentson that the just moments before agreement to sell some land to a developer [Coast2Bay] was being discussed in the public section of the meeting at all. It looks like Cr Finzel and Larry Sengstock, Council SEO were also concerned that this sale had just been publicly disclosed. Cr Stockwell then explains himself and the objection by Cr Lorentson is overruled by Mayor Frank Wilkie and Cr Stockwell proceeds.
Forward to around 1hr 31 minutes and 40 seconds then listen to Cr's Brian Stockwell Amelia Lorentson and Karen Finzel.
